Ready to hear the motivation behind the new website? The short answer: For many women, along with wedding vows comes a name change.
While some career professionals decide to keep their maiden names in some form or another, I decided to fully embrace my new identity as a McLaughlin. However, that meant also losing name recognition and an online reputation that took years to build. When once you could Google my name to view my portfolio and bylines in first-page results, I’m now ranked well below a controversial Kentucky judge and other similarly-named professionals.
The timing was good for the next logical step: A rebrand. Or, new brand, depending on how you look at it. In addition to my full time position of content development and management, I’ve been steadily picking up freelance writing and editing work. I discovered I truly enjoyed the challenges these assignments offered and playing a vital role in my clients’ success.
I now have a great group of regular clients, and I’m hoping to expand that client base (hence the new website). If you’re in need of writing, editing or contact support, feel free to contact me today! Or, sign up for blog updates to keep in touch.
